About the Long Island Center of Photography
Founded by Dick Lopez in 1996, the Long Island Center of Photography (LICP) promotes
diversity and creativity in the fields of photography and related media, with an emphasis on
the character and history of Long Island. Since its inception, LICP has conceived and promoted
numerous programs and events tailored to the interests and needs of the region. These programs
and events include workshops, seminars and exhibitions, regional photography competitions,
special presentations of emerging contemporary photographers, speaker programs, and other
community outreach initiatives.
